Where it all began.
Filmed in Mexico in 1969 and released in a small border town in 1970. A horror film about an old Mayan folklore of a manlike being known as Informis Diaboli, making its way into Texas, slaughtering anyone in its aimless path, harvesting the faces of its victims with an endless desire, using a blade made of Mexican green obsidian.
This film featured the 1969 strip club massacre that was said to be so brutally realistic, the film was investigated for having real-life murders committed on camera.
The independently produced original Slasher Face film was seized and mostly destroyed after its unofficial premiere in a small Texas town theater. The production was investigated, but not a single cast or crew member was found.
After the original premiere, a copycat serial killer began collecting faces in an undisclosed border town at a cabin resort near the premiere of the film. Details of the copycat serial killer have been kept confidential. Local rumors share a story about the copycat killer being related to a pastor and that his identity was covered up through blackmail. The stories have been garbled over time and little to nothing has been chronicled.
